Students confirmed infected with covid-19 in Førde
It is confirmed that eight students in Førde have tested positive for corona.
“We have decided that teaching in Førde will mainly be digital this week. Students and staff will receive information today”, says rector Gunnar Yttri.
“We are in contact with the infection control service in Sunnfjord municipality and we have contact with the students who are affected. The infection control service is responsible for tracing the infection. We work with them on further follow-up and clarifications.”
The rector explains that all confirmed cases of infection are linked to activities outside the campus.
Students who have been confirmed infected are required to be isolated from the infection control service. The persons whom the infection control service has defined as close contacts to those infected are subject to quarantine.
“We must prepare for the fact that we can have more new confirmed cases of infection among the students in the future.”
Yttri says that HVL keeps the campus open, and it is safe to stay on campus in Førde.
“However it is important that we all follow the infection control rules.”
