Fjords and Glaciers
Semester programme, autumn 2019
The course consists of nature and culture studies within the context of outdoor activities. The Norwegian tradition of outdoor life, and the link between this and environmental issues are the fundamental elements of this interdisciplinary course.
Through this course, you will explore mountains, lakes, fjords and glaciers.
You will learn about:
- how human behaviour affects nature
- how we have used nature in industries throughout the times.
You will experience the typical landscape of western Norway, its fauna and flora, and will learn about how this landscape has been formed and changed over time.
Course start date is 5th August.
The teaching throughout the course is delivered through various outdoor activities. We will have excursions, fieldwork and hiking trips, lectures, individual and group work.
The language of instruction is English.
You will have practice in kindergarten, primary school or other institutions where outdoor activities are included.
