Marketing, Tourism and Innovation

Forskningsgruppa i Marketing, Tourism and Innovation er ei tverrfagleg samansett gruppe forskarar som er tett knytt opp mot bachelorutdanninga i reiselivsleiing og siviløkonomutdanninga ved HVL.

Gruppa leverer i hovedsak forskning innan tre hovedretningar:  Marknadsføring, turisme og innovasjon, men også forskning som går på tvers av desse tre retningane. Gruppa har fleire stipendiatar som er knytt opp mot desse temaa.

Innan marknadssføring har gruppa særleg fokus på studiar av merkevarer, og korleis forbrukarar og turistar sine opplevingar kan påverke merkevarene. Gruppa har også forska på korleis forbrukarar responderer på ulike offentlege tiltak, som til dømes retningslinjene under Covid-19 pandemien. Medlemmer i gruppa har til dømes delteke i prosjekt der ein har sett på i kva grad forbrukarar sitt forbruksmønster er endra av Covid-19 pandemien.

Vestlandsregionen opplever i auka grad turismepress og må agere på spørsmål om ansvarleg og berekraftig utvikling til det beste for alle. Derfor er dette eit tema gruppa si forskning innan reiseliv fokuserer på.

Gruppa deltek i fleire store internasjonale og nasjonale prosjekt i samarbeid med ulike aktørar innafor reiselivsnæringa, der bærekraft er i fokus. Eit døme er at gruppa er involvert i eit nordisk prosjekt med å skrive ei bok om nordisk kystturisme.

Medlemmene av gruppa har gjennom fleire år forska mykje på kva rolle eventar og festivalar har, både for lokalbefolking, turistar og reiselivsnæring.

I ei verd som er stadig meir kompleks og hurtigendrande, treng vi ei tverrfagleg tilnærming for å kome fram til nye løysingar. Målet for forskingsprogrammet er å bidra til forsking og til å formidle teori og kunnskap frå innovasjonsforskninga til andre forskarar, politikkutformarar og praktikarar, med tanke på ansvarleg utvikling av region og næringsliv.

Gruppa er involvert i forskning og utgreiingsarbeid rundt tema som mat, nettverk og innovasjon i nystarta verksemder. Til dømes har gruppa delteke i prosjekt der ein har sett nærare på korleis ei revitalisering av vår kulinariske arv kan brukast i næringsutvikling og verdiskaping.
