Anne Sophie Gerhardt
Field of work
I work as a engineer at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) since 2024. In this role, I work as a teacher for chemical enineering students in the laboratory, focusing on chemical and chemical engineering topics. Additionally, I contribute to the daily operation of laboratories and instruments. Furthermore, I manage the Instagram account for the chemical engineering program at HVL (kjemihvl), and I am involved in recruitment efforts for the chemical engineering program at the Institute for Safety, Chemical and bioenineering Sciences (ISKB).
My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from UiT, where I focused on organic chemistry and biology. Icompleted this degree in June 2021 and wrote a project work in organic synthesis, specifically related to a larger prosject targeting antibiotic resistace. Furthermore, I hold a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from UiB, which i completed in June 2023. For my master's thesis, I delved into marine natural products chemsitry, specifically examining the polypehnol content in sugar kelp. Beyond my master's studies, I've been involved in seaweed and mussel projects within the aquaculture industry.
