Bente Frisk

Field of work

I am a professor at the Department of Health and Functioning, and  affiliated with the Master's in Clinical Physiotherapy. I have a PhD from the University of Bergen with the thesis: "Exercise capacity and breathing pattern in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Predictors and longitudinal changes". In addition, I am a specialist in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, MNFF.

My research activity has primarly focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of people with COPD, long covid and chronic health problems, as well as health service innovation and respiratory physiology.

I teach at both bachelor's and master's degree in clinical physiotherapy. From 2019-2021, I was the leader of the research group Movement and Function (BeFu), where I am still a member. I will resume my role as research group leader from the autumn of 2025. Furthermore, I have  been a member of the working group that developed the National guidelines for COPD,  published by the Norwegian Directorate of Health in 2022.
