Field of work
I am working as Professor and Research Director at Centre for Care Research, Western Norway. We are in particular commited to researching municipal health and care services. Moreover, I also work as a Professor-II at VID Specialized University. My background is in anthropology and nursing.
Until 2008 most of my research has been within the field of culture and health, where I have done research work in different countries like, besides Norway, the Sudan, Indonesia, Ecuador and Bolivia. From 2008, my research has primarily been within the field of older people's care, both in a national and international comparative perspective, cooperating with academic institutions in Canada, USA, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Finland
