The rector is responsible for the scientific and administrative activities at the university, and he is the secretary to the university board.
Gunnar Yttri has been appointed to a fixed-term position as rector of Western Norway University of Applied Sciences for the period 1.1. 2025 - 31.12. 2028. He was also appointed as rector in the period 1.1.2021 - 31.12.2024.
Rector Gunnar Yttri is a member of the board of the Norwegian Council of Higher Education Institutions (UHR).
