Associate Professor

Irina Pavlova

Field of work

I am Senior Lecturer in Social Sciences and have been employed at HVL since 2016. I teach at the Sociology Program and am a module leader for the course Sociology at Work (work placement course)

In 2020 I received "Utdanningskvalitetspris" (Price for teaching quality) at HVL for innovative work introducing mandatory placements as a part of Sociology program. In recent years I have been doing research on work-oriented Sociology and been involved in committee work with Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir), as well as the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT)

I have a particular interest for establishing active learning as a starting point for active citizenship, internationalisation "at home" and in the form of international mobility, where I have done research on youth mobility in Europe with the Horizon 2020 project "MOVE: Mapping mobility - pathways, institutions and structural effects of youth mobility in Europe".

Currently I hold these position at HVL - member of the Council for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at HVL (2019-2023 and 2024-2027), member of the Faculty Council at the Faculty for Technology, Environmental and Social Sciences
