Kristian Tverli Iversen is a PhD fellow at the Department of Art Studies, Faculty of Teacher Education, Culture, and Sports at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Previously, he has worked as class teacher of music production at Voss Folk High School and as a cultural worker in the municipality of Bergen.
In his PhD project, Kristian researches artificial intelligence in music education. His areas of interest in the project include how teachers can use chatbots and generative music AI as teaching tools in music instruction, and how this impacts students' self-efficacy and creative outcomes.
Kristian has an educational background in music pedagogy, with a research focus on laptop as performance instrument, music production, and songwriting in bands. In addition to his position, Kristian works freelance in music production and pursues a solo project, performing within the genres of house/techno/ambience. In production, Kristian is particularly interested in experimenting with loop-based music, minimalism, evolving sound textures, sampling, and the creative use of sequencers and synthesizers.
