Field of work
I am employed as a professor at the Department of Health and Care Sciences, Section for Masters in l Nursing. My work is mainly related to education and research in diabetes and other chronic diseases.
I am course coordinator responsible and teach in evidence-based practice, research methods, communication, and empowerment-based interventions. I supervise master's students in Master in nursing - the diabetes specialty and other clinical specialties, as well as PhD students in the same field. I also am course coordinator and teach within the PhD program "Health, function and participation" in HVL and in the national research school for the municipal health services (MUNI-HEALTH-CARE).
My research aims to studying self-management, health and quality of life using patient-reported data and qualitative interviews, and in addition, evaluating the effect of educational and organizational measures in the specialist healthcare service, in general practice and in home-based services. Using data from large population-based studies and health registers, we also study conditions related to the development of disease, health and disease burden.
I have published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in various scientific journals and a number of popular science articles, book chapters and lectures at home and abroad. I collaborate with other researchers in Scandinavia, Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, and participate in various international research networks (e.g. EANS and PSAD).
