Yulia Arinicheva Skåtun
Field of work
I am an associate professor at the Department of Mechanical and Marine Engineering, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), Campus Bergen. Here I teach courses in hydrogen technology, electrochemistry for batteries, fuel cells and electrolysers, thermodynamics, applied fluid dynamics.
My experience combines chemistry and materials science with focus on environmentally friendly energy applications. I recieved my doctorate from the RWTH Aachen University in Germany on ceramics for safe management of high-level radioactive waste. Afterwards I worked as a materials researcher within solid-state batteries at the Institute for Energy and Climate Research (IEK-1), Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH in Germany. Within my doctoral and postdoctoral projects, I had a number of research stays at host institutions, including UC Davis, ESRF, ICSM Marcoule, JRC-ITU, HZDR, UiB.
