Field of work

I work as associate professor at Department of environmental sciences and teach students at the BSc program Landscape planning with landscape architecture.

I am interested in the interaction between nature and culture, and how humans influence the landscape they live in. My research focus on historical and present land cover changes both in the traditional culturla landscape, but also in small urban areas, using historical maps and aerial photos in GIS. My work focus primary on the effect of land cover changes on vegetation, at scales from landscape to populations. I have worked mostly in traditional cultural landscape, but also in mountain vegetation and road verges.

Aktuelle prosjekt:
- Overvaking av artsrik slåttemark i Sogn og Fjordane 

- Deltek i det internasjonale nettverket PLANTPOPNET, som studerer kva abiotiske og biotiske drivarar som bestemmer førekomst og overleving av arten smalkjempe (Plantago lanceolata) på globalt nivå.
