HVL's system for copying, scanning and printing of documents for students, is based on student card and card readers on the printers.

Printing account

Important information about your printing account at HVL

All students are granted 100 NOK on their printing account when they begin their studies at HVL for the first time. This amount can be used for printing on our printers and gives you a good start to your studies. Please note that this allocation is only given once. If you end your studies or start a new course later, you will not receive additional funds for your printing account.

Remember:

  • The 100 NOK amount is only granted upon first registration as a student at HVL.
  • There is no connection between the copying and learning material fee and your personal printing account.
  • Unused funds on your printing account cannot be refunded, and the account will be closed once you complete your studies.

To purchase more printing credit, go to Myprint.hvl.no and log in with your username and password. Follow the instructions to add credit to your account.

New students/employees who do not have a card can log in to the printers using their username and password, as explained in the instructions below.

First-time login (activate your card)

  • You will see a message saying "Unknown User," followed by "Login to register card."
  • Click on "Username" and enter your username.
  • Click on "Password" and enter your password.
  • Then, click on "OK."

Top up your card (for students only)

NB: There is no connection between the copying and learning material fee and your personal printing account at HVL.

Go to Myprint.hvl.no and log in with your username and password. A login screen will appear. Click the "Purchase credit" button to add credit to your account.

Printing prices

  • A4 black and white, single-sided: 0.75 NOK

  • A4 black and white, double-sided: 1.12 NOK (0.56 NOK per side)

  • A4 color, single-sided: 1.50 NOK

  • A4 color, double-sided: 2.26 NOK (1.13 NOK per side)

 

  • A3 black and white, single-sided: 1.50 NOK

  • A3 black and white, double-sided: 2.26 NOK (1.13 NOK per side)

  • A3 color, single-sided: 3.00 NOK

  • A3 color, double-sided: 5.50 NOK

Note

Make sure to use all the money on your card before you finish your studies. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any remaining balance. Your account will be closed once you complete your studies at HVL.

How to use the printers

Before printing or copying, make sure the printer has paper. If you print on a printer that is out of paper, the print job will be completed once paper is added.

Printing from a wireless network

Go to Myprint.hvl.no to print via web, email, or driver (it should work from most devices; Android, iPhone, tablet, PC, Mac, etc.). Log in with your username and password.

For printing from some mobile phones and tablets, "email print" works best. The link is available when you are connected to the "Eduroam" wireless network at HVL.

Copying

  • Go to a multifunction printer with a card reader.
  • Use your card to log in to the printer. For first-time use, or if you have received a new card, you must also log in with your username and password (see the instructions for first-time login above).
  • Press the "Copy" button.
  • Place the document you want to copy on the glass plate or in the feeder at the top of the printer.
  • Select the settings you want for copying.
  • Start copying.

Scanning

  • Go to a multifunction printer with a card reader.
  • Use your card to log in to the printer. For first-time use, or if you have received a new card, you must also log in with your username and password (see the instructions for first-time login above).
  • Press the "Email" button.
  • Place the document you want to scan on the glass plate or in the feeder at the top of the printer.
  • Select the settings you want for scanning, and enter your HVL email address.
  • Start scanning, and the document will be sent to your email address.

Logging out

Press the log-out button on the display, or hold your card against the card reader again. If you forget to log out, you will be automatically logged out after about one minute.

Support

If you encounter any issues, Servicetorget or IT-hjelpen is prepared to answer your questions. Feel free to notify us if there is no paper or toner in a printer, or if you have blocked your account and want to open it again
