All temporary positions within the project are now filled
We are pleased to announce that all three temporary positions within the project Repeat have now been filled. Welcome to Catharina Caspara (Katinka) Vloon, Ingrid Knutsdotter Koren and Julien Vollering.
Ingrid Koren considers herself a jack-of-all-trades and has a broad interdisciplinary background in everything from languages, economics and social science, to science and technology. One area of particular interest for Ingrid is the inconsistency between the human need for economic, technological, and social societal development on the one hand, and planetary boundaries, especially from a psychological point of view, on the other. Ingrid will contribute to work package 2 on Land use in Cabin and Road development.
Catharina Vloon, or Katinka as she prefers to be called, is originally from the Netherlands. In 2018 she came to Norway on her bicycle to start on a Master's degree in Ecology at the NMBU in Ås. Her main areas of interest are vegetation ecology, ecosystem restoration and human behavior. Katinka will take part in the work on Peatland restoration in work package 4.
Finally, we welcome Julien Vollering who has accepted the postdoc position and will lead work package 1 on soil carbon stock estimation, together with Stein Bondevik. Julien also has his roots in the Netherlands but grew up in the US. He has academic degrees from both countries (Berkeley, USA and Leiden, Nederland), and a PhD from HVL and the University of Oslo focusing on modelling of distribution of alien conifers in Norway. Julien has settled down in beautiful Hafslo, where he lives with his family.
