Patient Safety and Integrated Care
Our research group aim to increase knowledge about safe clinical pathways to decrease adverse events and increase quality and safety.
Many patients experience adverse events or insufficient help when receiving healthcare services, despite the Norwegian government’s increased focus on patient safety in both primary healthcare services and hospitals over the past decade.
We study factors contributing to safe clinical pathways and conduct our projects in close cooperation with the clinical field. We identify challenges, map incidents and explore what factors influence the quality of healthcare delivery. We focus on patients with acute, critical and chronic conditions, at all health services levels, fronting both the patient and the healthcare services perspectives.
User involvement is a critical part of our projects and involves service recipients as well as service providers.
