Negotiating Values in Norwegian Teacher-Education (NeVa)

Negotiating Values in Norwegian Teacher-Education (NeVa) is a research project funded by the Research Council of Norway.

NeVa’s main objectives are: 1) to gain knowledge about the processes, challenges, and opportunities involved in negotiating values in teacher-education; and 2) to develop an innovative co-creative workshop methodology for supporting teachers’ knowledge, understanding and skills in handling how values are interpreted and negotiated in teacher-education and in schools.

NeVa is a collaborative project between teacher-education programs at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and the universities of Agder (UiA), Stavanger (UiS), Loughborough, York, and Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom, as well as Fridalen School in Bergen. The project will explore and compare how the issue of core curriculum values are addressed and taught in Norwegian and English teacher-education.
