Study plan - Bachelor of Maritime Management

Autumn 2024

Bachelor in maritime management (BAMM) is a customized transition arrangement from vocational school education to a bachelor's degree, and is reserved for candidates with education from a maritime vocational school with specialization in deck officer or engineer officer.

The bachelor's program runs part-time, so that the study can be taken in parallel with work at sea or in the land-based maritime industry. It is not possible to adapt the study program to each individual student, but the program is laid out with great flexibility and will therefore suit most people.

The learning activities vary, including lectures, solving exercises in groups and problem-based learning. In addition to individual work, group work is encouraged throughout the programme.

Assessment

The forms of assessment have two purposes:

The grading scale consists of letter grades A-F or pass/fail. The grades A-E show that the student has passed the course, and the grade E indicates that the minimum requirements have been met. The grade F indicates failure. The grade C reflects a good and solid academic performance.

Internationalization

Maritime education provides opportunities for exchange to educational institutions in Europe within the EU programs Socrates/Erasmus and Leonardo daVinci. The exchange can be of different length and content. The college can also offer stays at partner institutions in other parts of the world during the study period. Contact the study supervisor to find out more about internationalization in the study program.
