Learning Outcome
- has extensive knowledge in pathophysiology, symptoms, diagnosing and the latest treatment modalities on dementia and geriatric psychiatry
- has extensive knowledge concerning various milieu therapy measures and approaches towards elders with dementia and geriatric psychiatry
- displays awareness for the next of kin's situation
- has exhaustive knowledge of the health and social care worker's professional, ethical and legal responsibilities within dementia care
- is familiar with cognitive charting methods
- holds specialised knowledge in medicamental treatment of elders with dementia
- is able to search for and critically assess information about dementia care and the demented
- is able to map, plan, implement and evaluate topical interdisciplinary measures within dementia care in collaboration with patient/next of kin
- is able to initiate relevant milieu therapeutical measures
- is able to analyse, assess and communicate professional, ethical and legal problems within dementia care

Teaching methods
Lectures, dialogue, self-tuition, teamwork, sit in on classes at appointed workplace and oral presentation of assignment.
Compulsory learning activities
80 % turnout for instruction.
