Course description for academic year 2017/2018
Contents and structure
1. order linear differential equations, coupled systems of differential equations, parametric curves in 2 and 3 dimensions.
Learning Outcome
- Knowledge:
The student should be able to make practical use of derivation and integration, special techniques for 1st order differential equations, coupled systems of differential equations, parametric curves in the plane and in space, spherical coordinates.
- Skills:
Know basis techniques for differential and integral calculus. Be able to solve basic differential equations and be able to work with vectors and matrices.
- General Qualifications:
The student should be able to use mathematics as a tool in nautical science.
Entry requirements
NAB1030 Basic Mathematics or equivalent
Recommended previous knowledge
NAB1013 Mathematics II or equivalent

Written exam 5 hrs
