PSBU6102 Organization and Coordination of Child Health Care Services
Course description for academic year 2017/2018
Contents and structure
The course is centered on research method, interdisciplinary and interdepartmental cooperation and directs attention to the organisation of the child health care services, together with law and ethics. Emphasis will be placed on structures of cooperation of the above services, client participation on different levels and family cooperation.
Learning Outcome
The Student:
- has comprehensive knowledge of client participation and which conditions that promote health and prevent illness.
- has comprehensive knowledge of current legislation and the rights of children and young adults, including legislation that regulates the work promoting the health of children and young adults and preventing illness and injuries.
- has comprehensive knowledge of the need for a coherent and integrated service provision.
- has advanced knowledge of children and young adults in the welfare state.
- has advanced knowledge of different research methods.
The Student:
- is able to employ the service provisions locally and nationally.
- is able to utilise methods promoting client participation, coping and empowerment on individual and group level.
- is able to utilise relevant methods when analysing both scientific and research papers.
- is able to identify and discuss ethical dilemmas.
The Student:
- is able to utilise and carry out practise in accordance with laws, regulations and other socially regulated conditions governing psychosocial work with children, adolescents, young adults and families.
- can take the initiative to establish and participate in interdisciplinary competence groups that maintain coherent service provisions for children, adolescents, young adults and their families.

Teaching methods
Lectures, tutorials and self-tuition are central. Teamwork and oral proposals may also occur.
