RUS6104 User management and interaction between service levels
Course description for academic year 2019/2020
Contents and structure
The course encompasses structural factors, framework conditions and managament tools for health promotion, prevention, improvement and quality of life within the field of drug abuse. User management, health promotion and early intervention on system level, work and intoxication and the complexity of interaction are emphasised. The course also focuses on project planning, professional development, quality assurance, quality development and evaluation.

The Student:
- has comprehensive knowledge of national, regional and local management tools applicable to the field of drug abuse
- has comprehensive knowledge of current research and development work promoting planning, management and coordination of services pertaining to drug abuse and psychiatry
- has comprehensive knowledge of cooperation methods in interdisciplinary and interdepartmental interaction
Skills:
The Student:
- is able to analyse and evaluate professional problems based on the framework conditions and ethical implications in the field of drug abuse
- is able to practice critical reflection on one's own role and professional practice in interaction with users, next of kin, supportive persons and other skilled personnel
- is able to employ legal and work ethical guidelines in his occupational practice
- is able to act as an incentive to interdisciplinary cooperation and organise and coordinate necessary measures and support teams
- is able to display insight and understanding for professional and ethical problems by reflecting on one's own practice in reflection groups

Teaching methods
Lectures, tutorials, teamwork and self-tuition.
Part-time education with weekly assemblies/single days on campus Haugesund and Stord. The study is also based on obligatory participation in tutorials, communication on the net and significant individual effort between the assemblies.
Compulsory learning activities
1 individual, written assignment, 1500-2000 words, +/- 10%.
75% attendance.
Assessment
Assignment, 12 weeks, 7000 words, +/- 10%. Graded marks
