Course description for academic year 2020/2021
Contents and structure
The course is intended to give insight into the leadership of educational development work in kindergartens and schools, with the focus on ICT in learning.
Theme group 1: ICT in educational development work
The following themes are central:
- ICT in educational development work. Planning, implementation and evaluation
- Project planning and implementation
- Distributed knowledge and knowledge sharing in learning organisations.
Theme group 2: ICT, leadership and quality development
The following themes will be taken up:
- New technology - challenges for management at various levels in kindergarten and school
- Class leadership
- ICT as a tool for quality development
Learning Outcome
Knowledge
The candidate:
- has detailed knowledge about ICT in development and change activities
- has advanced knowledge about ICT in planning work and quality development
- has detailed knowledge about ICT in relation to social development and new technology and what challenges this presents to management at various levels in kindergarten and school

- can reflect on and contribute to new thinking in relation to ICT in educational development work
- can analyse and evaluate planning work and quality development

General competence
The candidate:
- has insight into children's and young people's upbringing and learning in the media society and can use this insight in educational development work
- can lead work on ICT-related quality development
- can familiarise him or herself with and analyse relevant research in the field of ICT in learning

Teaching methods
Forms of work and teaching:Lectures, meetings, individual and collective guidance, internet-based resources, work on folder assignments and collaboration via the learning platform Fronter. There will be practice connected with this course, which covers the practice requirements of year four of teacher training for the primary and lower secondary levels.
