Contents and structure

A review of cultural landscape developments in a historical perspective with focus on semi-natural vegetation types and elements which is shaped through traditional agriculture. Ecological processes in the cultural landscape. Management of cultural landscapes.

Learning Outcome

  • The students shall have knowledge about the cultural landscape and related ecological processes to estimate proper management for semi-natural vegetation types formed through traditional agriculture.
  • The students shall have gained skill to prepare management plans for different types of the cultural landscapes.
  • The students shall have experience in restoration and management techniques.

Teaching methods

Lectures, excursions and field work.

Compulsory learning activities

The student must attend the compulsory excursions and write an excursion-report.

Assessment

Written exam 4 hours. Grading A-F
