Course description for academic year 2021/2022
Contents and structure
This course provides a mathematical basis for land surveying and other technical topics.
Content: angular measures, area- volume- and mass calculations, trigonometry, differentiation, integration, linear algebra, matrix calculations, equations, linearization. Application of mathematical software, including basic programming.

Knowledge
Be able to explain and apply mathematical methods in surveying and related topics.
Skills
Be able to perform coordinate calculations and calculations with trigonometric functions
Be able to perform vector- and matrix calculations and solve systems of equations
Be able to perform basic differentiation and integration calculations
General competency
Be able to describe the role of mathematics as basis for georeferenced information and data processing.

Lectures and exercises.
Compulsory learning activities
5 mandatory assignments must be approve. The assignments must be submitted within set deadlines and must be approved before examination can take place.
Approved assignments are valid in 3 semesters after approval.
Assessment
4 hour written exam. Grading scale A-F, where F is not approved
