NAB3018 Maritime Communication
Course description for academic year 2022/2023
Contents and structure
The course gives the necessary background to apply for a GOC certificate.
The students are given only one opportunity to take the course. If one has signed up but does not complete without valid reason, the university will not cover the cost of a new course.
Learning Outcome
- Knowledge:
The students should have a thorough knowledge of radio equipment and it¿s operation.
- Skills:
The students should be able to operate as a radio officer on board vessels.
- General Qualifications:
This course are enabling the students to apply for their GOC license, and covers relevant requirements in STCW 78 as amended, tables A-II/1, A-II/2 and A-IV/2.
Entry requirements
Min 70 ECTS completed within the study program

None.
Teaching methods
Lectures and practical assignments.
Compulsory learning activities
Approved evaluation test provided by Telenor and mandatory attendance in all parts of the subject. The course requirements are only valid the semester they are taken.
