Content and structure

The course focuses on supply chain decisions and how this affect business performance. Understanding strategic adaptation and how different instruments can be applied here is the key to success for many supply chains. Logistical techniques and tools for chain design, planning, operation, communication, and coordination are reviewed.

The theoretical knowledge from here, as well as from previous logistics subjects, will be further "practiced" through work on a group-based term paper. The overall objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge and understanding of the necessity of holistic thinking and effective interaction between the players in the supply chain.

• Supply chain design
• Planning and coordinating operations in supply chains
• Managing uncertainty and managing economies of scale
• Cross-functional topics related to sourcing, pricing, ICT and sustainability

Classroom teaching, group work and semester assignment work

Compulsory learning activities

1 group-based mandatory work requirement must be passed before the exam can be taken

Approved work requirements are valid during the exam semester and 3 subsequent semesters

Assessment

Oral Examination (individual, 20 minutes). 100%

Time and place for the oral examination will be announced through Canvas.

Grading scale is A-F where F is fail.
