Course description for academic year 2023/2024
Contents and structure
The course aims to give the students a hands-on experience with interdisciplinary projects and methods, with an emphasis of visual arts, music and dance. The students will be involved in preparing, planning, executing and evaluating a community art project. The student will gain experience with art as a tool for partcipation, collaboration and democratic practices as well as developing creative tools for social intellectual exchange.

- has experience in developing a community art project from idea to finished work
- has experience with workshops as a tool to create and explore questions
- can apply knowledge about creative processes relating to community arts intentions
Entry requirements
None
Recommended previous knowledge
Community visual arts, Community music, Community dance. Exchange students must have experience and skills in at least one of the subjects music, visual arts and/or dance.
Teaching methods
Practical activities in class, in groups, lectures, workshops and seminars.
Compulsory learning activities
- Course requirement 1: Create and develop a community arts-based project
- Course requirement 2: Writing an individual project portfolio with reflections and photo documentation
- Course requirement 3: Compulsory attendance is a requirement for workshops, practical activities and group work.
All of the course requirements must be passed in order to take the final exam.
Assessment
Oral group exam.
Grading scale: Passed/Failed.
