Contents and structure
An introduction to municipal planning according to the Planning and building Act, focussing land use planning and local development plans.
- Requirements for content and process in municipal land use plans (KPA) and local developments plans.
- Risk and vulnerability analyses, focussing municipal land use plans.
Learning Outcome
Knowledge
The student should have basic knowledge of:
- the planning system, and demands for content and investigations (part of the Planning and Building Act).
- requirements in planning processes for different planning levels.
- key issues in both municipal and private local development plans.
Skills
The student shall:
- be able find information and do superior analyses.
- have a good foundation to perform professional input to planning processes.
- be able to make Environmental assessment analyses and Risk and vulnerability analyses for nature hazards.
General competence
The student shall:
- be able to understand, assess and use municipal land use plans and local development plans.
- be able to participate in planning processes.

No formal prerequisites.

No prerequisites for previous knowledge.
Teaching methods
Lectures and exercises.
Compulsory learning activities
Individual or group project (two persons group). Extract and interpret information from plans and planning processes in a study area of one's own choosing, and do simple analyes.
Coursework requirements must be approved in order to take the exam.
Assessment
Written examination under supervision, 4 hours.
Grading: A-F.
