Contents and structure

Transport, right of carriage and terms of delivery

The course will give the students a basic introduction to the different modes of transport, load carriers, cargo units , etc. that are the core of logistics. Furthermore, in-depth knowledge of the purchase law, transport law and insurance law rules and practices that the parties must adhere to as a result of the terms and conditions entered into.

Purchase

The course will provide students with in-depth knowledge of the national and international delivery terms used in a trade transaction and which are a result of the concluded purchase agreements that form the basis for the trade transaction itself and associated logistics.

  • Sea/Air and Road Transport Law
  • Warehouse, terminal and goods reception
  • Transport insurance law
  • Terms of delivery (Incoterms®)
  • Terms of payment, including debt collection and letters of credit

  • Be able to understand and choose suitable modes of transport with associated load units
  • Be able to handle transport law issues from both the carrier and the goods side
  • Be able to plan and carry out a logistics operation

  • Understanding of how logistics are affected and determined by transport and delivery terms

Entry requirements

None

Teaching methods

Classroom teaching combined with group work and possibly guest lectures. The students write a group-based term paper within transport law and / or delivery terms, primarily in a company of their choice, alternatively and in the absence of a suitable company, as a purely theoretical assignment

Compulsory learning activities

  • 1 group-based compulsory work requirement must be passed before the exam can be taken.
  • Approved coursework requirements are valid in the exam semester and 3 consecutive semesters.

Assessment

Written school exam, 4 hours

The written exam is conducted on a digital exam system (Wiseflow).

Grading scale A-F where F corresponds to fail.

National Transport Plan

All calculators are allowed, with the following exceptions/limitations

- the calculator can not communicate

- the calculator can not handle symbolic mathmatical expressions

- the calculator will not be connected to electricity

- the calculator can not make noise in the exam fascilities
