NAB3037 Tank operations
Course description for academic year 2024/2025
Contents and structure
The course addresses numerous basic and more advanced concepts, relevant for working on board an oil tanker or a chemical tanker.
The course covers regulations in STCW 78 including amendments, table A-V/1-1-1, A-V/1-1-2 and A-V/1-1-3, and qualifies for applying for lowest grade and highest grade oil and chemical tankerman certificate.
NAB3037 is an elective course for study year 2024/2025. For coming years elective courses may change. For later years, the elective courses may change, and it is not a given that this elective course will be held then. The course is also dependent on enough students registered.
There will be a course fee. Further information will be given.

Lectures, group work, case studies and practical exercises.

Assessment
- School exam - digital written exam, 4 hours, grading A-F.
