Course description for academic year 2025/2026
Contents and structure
Through practical and authentic work assignments, reflection and guidance, the student must acquire an understanding of methods, issues, processes and tools in working life.
Relevant practice is work in:
For students on the bachelor programme Business and Administration: Finance department, accountant, auditor, bank, insurance and finance.
For students on the bachelor programme Real Estate Management, economics and law: Property brokerage firm.
The course should contribute to the student being able to reflect on the theory they have acquired during the previous semester, and link this to practice within the area of business economics. Practice in the company must have a scope of at least 120 hours (7.5 credits). The student himself must take responsibility for getting enough practice hours. A contract must be drawn up that regulates responsibilities and tasks between the educational institution, the student and the internship.
The company provides a professional guidance counselor who is responsible for following up on the student.
The student must apply for an internship and complete an interview with the internship. Internships must be approved by the university.
A mandatory start-up seminar will be held where the requirements for the practice report will be reviewed. In addition, this seminar will clarify expectations for the student, work placement and teaching institution. Midway through the internship period, a mandatory seminar will be held. The internship will be carried out at the start of the spring semester, therefore the internship must be formally in order at the end of the spring, 3rd semester.
Learning Outcome
Knowledge:
The student must
- acquire knowledge about the use of theory and method through practical work in a company acquire
- aquire knowledge about connections between different subjects in the study and how they can be used in a business
- within the chosen subject area acquire knowledge about central themes, problems, processes, tools and methods
Skills:
The student must
- be able to perform tasks within the practice area
- learn to use professional tools, techniques and forms of expression within the chosen practice area
- find and use literature that is relevant to the practice
General competence:
The student
- has expand insight into the economic/administrative subject area and into requirements and rules of the game in working life
- ability to communicate and collaborate with involved parties inside and outside the business
- ability to plan and solve academic tasks independently
- insight into relevant professional and professional ethical issues

Teaching methods
During the internship period, the student must participate actively with agreed work assignments and collaborate with internship supervisors and others in the company. During the internship period, the student must lay the basis for the preparation of an internship report through notes/logs/documents from the company. The student must familiarize himself with the relevant literature and use this during the internship period.
Compulsory learning activities
The student must have completed the following work requirements:
- Participation in start-up seminar, oral presentation on expectations for practice (approved / not approved)
- Practice period - 120 hours (approved / not approved)
- Participation in the seminar, submission and oral presentation of the presentation (approved / not approved)
Assessment
Assignment: Written internship report (4,000 words)
Assessment: Pass or fail
If the result is not passed, the candidate is given the opportunity to improve the existing practice report.
