ING128 3D Modeling and Technical Drawing
Course description for academic year 2025/2026
Contents and structure
3D modeling and technical drawing are fundamental working methods for mechanical engineers. To ensure better integration with other subjects in the program, it is essential for students to develop basic drawing comprehension early in their studies.
This course provides participants with the skills to use modern software, specifically Creo Parametric, for 3D modeling in the design and construction of components and products. The focus is on computer-aided design (CAD), where participants will learn to develop solid objects such as parts and assemblies.
Additionally, the course incorporates project work as a central part of the learning process, encouraging students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical tasks. Topics such as HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), ethics, and sustainability are also integrated into the teaching to help participants develop a comprehensive understanding of responsible design and construction.
The goal is to prepare participants for industry challenges by equipping them with practical skills and ethical awareness, thereby enhancing their proficiency in modern CAD tools and methods.
Learning Outcome
A candidate who has completed the course will have achieved the following learning outcomes, defined in terms of knowledge, skills, and general competence:
