Course description for academic year 2025/2026

Contents and structure

The course provides an introduction to important elements of business law: contract law, consumer law, company law, marketing law, employment law, law of negotiable instruments, financial criminal law and bancruptcy law. The course also includes an introduction to legal method, how to identify and apply a legal rule and how to solve specific legal questions.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge:

The student shall:

  • achieve knowledge of sentral rules withing the subjects contract law, consumer law, company law, employment law, marketing law, law of negotiable instruments, financial criminal law and bancruptcy law.
  • achieve basic knowledge of legal metod.

Skills:

The student shall:

  • be able to solve legal questions relating to the subjects contract law, consumer law, company law, employment law, marketing law, law of negotiable instruments, financial criminal law and bancruptcy law.

General competence:

The student shall:

  • be aware of the role that the law plays in society
  • be aware that the law sets boundaries for private and public sector, and the importance of staying within these boundaries

Teaching methods

Lectures, problem solving and obligatory written assignment.

Assessment

4 hour written exam.

Grade scale A-F, where F corresponds to fail.
