Contents and structure
The overall goal of the course is to contribute to attain more knowledge, skills and critical thinking on the issue economical sustainability.

- International trade, globalization, environment, and sustainability
- Distribution of wealth and income
- Sustainability, environment, and market
- Environmental economics
- Sustainability, Governance, and institutional economy
- Mission Economics
- Distributional policy instruments and institutions in a Nordic context
Learning Outcome
Knowledge:
You shall:
- be able to explain key concepts used in analyzes of sustainable economics
- have knowledge of the link between sustainability and growth & trade
- know how the market can handle sustainability
- understand the relationship between government, social capital, and sustainability
- be able to link environment to sustainability
- have knowledge of topics connected to market, the welfare state and sustainability
Skills:
Be able to discuss issues related to economic activity and sustainability.
- Have insight into economic theories and key economic concepts such as freedom of choice, value creation, sustainability, and growth.
- be able to identify challenges of choices connected to sustainability
- apply economic theory on Norwegian conditions
General competence:
You shall:
- be able to ask critical questions and gain analytical competence regarding sustainable economics
- be able to see the link between economics, choices, and sustainability

Individual written home exam counts 100% of the grade. Grade scale A-F.
