Contents and structure

In today's rapidly evolving world, innovation and strategic thinking are crucial not only for corporate success but also for addressing the complex challenges facing our society. This course equips students with a comprehensive understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of innovation and strategy. Students will explore diverse theories related to innovation and strategy and gain insights into how these concepts work together to create value and drive change.

Students will acquire practical tools for analysis and decision-making, focusing on questions such as how to build innovation capacity in different types of organizations, what resources are necessary, and how to foster an environment conducive to innovation. The course covers frameworks, management practices, and organizational structures that are effective in today's innovative landscape.

Central to the course's teaching approach is interactive learning, with a strong emphasis on case studies and workshops. This hands-on, student-centric pedagogy allows for the direct application of theoretical concepts to real-world settings, encouraging students to identify and relate these concepts to practical examples from their everyday life. Admission to the master's programme in Innovation and management

Teaching methods

The course uses a combination of traditional theory and research-based lectures and contemporary, interactive learning activities.

Compulsory learning activities

Students must complete two group-based assignments (pass/fail assessment). Students must receive a pass on both assignments to be eligible for the exam.

Assessment

Group-based term paper that accounts for 60% of the final grade (grade scale A-F).

Individual 20 minute oral exam that accounts for 40% of the final grade (grade scale A-F).
