Contents and structure

Are you curious about organization and management in a digital age?

Do you want to understand and analyze the changes digital technology brings to organizational structures, collaboration and leadership?

The subject delves into how digital technology affects organizations in various areas. From innovations in products and services to fundamental changes in organizational processes, forms of collaboration and leadership roles.

During the course you will be exposed to a combination of lectures, videos and seminars. Active participation is a key component. In addition, you will gain experience in group presentations and discussions.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge

On completion of the course, the student will have:

  • knowledge and understanding of central themes, theories and issues related to:
    • how digital technology affects changes in organisations
    • digital technology and digital solutions that can affect the organization itself and its behavior and value creation

Skills:

On completion of the course, the student can:

  • explain and discuss how digital technology affects organisations
  • critically reflect on relevant theories related to organisation, management and digitalisation
  • reflect on and analyze practical issues in the light of relevant theories and justify their choices

General competence:

On completion of the course, the student is able to:

  • work both independently and in groups on assignments related to practical issues and presentation of the results in oral and written form
  • communicate with both specialists in the field and others on relevant topics
  • use relevant literature to investigate current issues

Teaching methods

Three weekend meetings with lectures and practical tasks. Online meetings between the physical gatherings.

Compulsory learning activities

One written assignment and one oral presentation

Assessment

Home exam over 10 days either alone or in groups of up to three students - 100%

Grade scale A - F, where F is "failed".
