Course description for academic year 2024/2025

Contents and structure

This subject encompasses the management and coordination of all activities related to procurement and distribution in a supply chain.

Procurement:

This involves identifying the need for goods or services, finding and evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and contract terms, and ultimately purchasing the necessary products or services. Effective procurement management ensures that the organization gets the best products at the best prices, while maintaining quality and delivery reliability.

Distribution:

This aspect includes the processes of moving products from manufacturers to end users. This may involve inventory management, transportation management, order processing, and delivery coordination. The goal of effective distribution management is to ensure that products are delivered on time, at the right place, and in the right condition, while minimizing costs and maximizing customer satisfaction.

Overall, "Supply Chain Management - Procurement and Distribution" focuses on optimizing these processes to improve the overall efficiency and profitability of the supply chain. This often involves the use of technology for data collection and analysis, collaboration with suppliers and distributors, and continuous improvement of processes to meet changing market demands.
