Course description for academic year 2022/2023
Contents and structure
This course offers a global perspective on history, focusing in particular on the great waves of globalization, but also seeking to explain counteracting forces and tendencies. Global history includes political, military, ecological, ideological, cultural, religious, technological, and economic exchange and networks.
The history of non-Western countries is an important topic in this course. Knowledge about various states and regions is used to develop comparative perspectives and to understand changes in the relationship between different parts of the world.

Recommended previous knowledge
One year of history study.
Teaching methods
Individual study, lectures, group work, digital resources, oral presentations and written assignments.
Compulsory learning activities
One individual assignment on a specific topic: oral presentation with lecturer feedback, followed by a written version.
The assignment must be approved for the student to be able to take the exam. If it is not approved, the student will get a second chance.
Assessment
Oral exam.
Grades from A-F, where F indicates failure.
