Project summary

Multicare is a research project on contemporary challenges, opportunities and potentials for the future in the Norwegian municipal care sector. The study is divided into four work packages. Package 1 is on recruitment and inclusive practices at in nursing homes in rural and urban areas and will be based on interviews with nursing staff and a survey on the leaders experiences with immigrants in the staff. The urban part of the study will be in an urban area in the Western part of Norway, while the rural will be carried out in a rural part of Finnmark.

Work package 1 is approved by NSD, a municipality and a nursing home in Finnmark and an urban nursing home. We are waiting for approval from the urban municipality.

Professor Mai Camilla Munkejordet, UIT/UIB/Rokkan Centre is the leader of work package 1 and carries out this part of the study together with assisting professor Gro Marit Grimsrud, UIB and assisting professor Jeanne Boge, HVL. 

The whole MULTICARE study is funded from the Research Council of Norway through the HelseVel program. Professor Frode Jacobsen at the Centre for Care Research West is the leader of the whole study that is carried out in close collaboration with Centre for care research East, University of Bergen/Uni Research, University of Stavanger, University of Tromsø, Stavanger University Hospital and the Dutch Institute for health research.
