Arbeids- og kompetanseområde
Mine akademiske interesser er innen global helse, re/habilitering, reproduktiv helse, universell adgang til helsetjenester, og sosial ulikhet og kjønn, alder og andre sosiale helsedeterminanter. Jeg har dr. grad og hovedfag i sosialantropologi, Mphil in Health Promotion og jeg er utdannet fysioterapeut. Jeg har jobbet klinisk i Belgia, Norge og Tanzania, og har undervist og forsket i Norge, Tanzania og Sudan. Metodologisk jobber jeg med kvalitative tilnærminger, men jeg er involvert/har veiledet kvantitative og "mixed methods" prosjekter.
Jeg er ansatt ved Institutt for Helse og Funksjon, Seksjon for Global helse og Rehabilitering, hvor jeg har utviklet og hatt ansvar for tre nye emner i en online Master in Healthy Ageing and Rehabilitation. Jeg er også tilknyttet bachelor og master i fysioterapi sekjonene hvor jeg er praksisutvekslingskoordinator for Afrika.
Jeg ønsker og jobber for å skaffe midler til internasjonale utdannings- og forsknings samarbeidsprosjekter med Afrikanske og andre partnere fra Sør.
Jeg leder HVLs forskningsgruppe for "Rehabilitation and Health Promotion" hvor flere av forskere jobber internasjonalt.
